Help me out guys… I'm toying with the idea of a DSLR again. I have £200-250 mostly from the recent sale of a Canon S95 point-and-shoot (which has left me cameraless).
I'm not fussed about specs or features of the body, I'd like the bare minimum – something small and inexpensive with full manual controls that I could occasionally throw in bag and take out with me. I'm thinking of a Canon 1000D and the f/1.8 50mm which can be had within my budget.
I've owned a GF2/20mm in the past, loved the size but couldn't get on with the lack of viewfinder. I've also owned a 550D with f/1.4 50mm lens which I loved but both are out of my budget at the moment.

So, can recommend a nice setup for £200–250?
