1. Rob/Andy/Adam - reread my OP (10740) - I was not suggesting those lineups, merely pointing out that those, on paper, satisfied the most people out of the six mathematically! There were only muted responses from Rob and Andy at the time and it took us no further forward in 3 days as far as I can see.

2. I didn't/don't accept that people saying/posting nothing = no objections. Hence I saw little progress and suspect we've probably reached a natural conclusion to the discussion.

3. I am not prepared to 'try-before-I-buy' on Thursday (or any other day) - that's merely replacing this 'process' with another open-ended one and it will drag on and on beyond Bristol.

Of my three favoured original lineups and in the interests of getting on with it, I'm pushing for - Andy/Em/Neil.

I figured it was up to us to put our choices in then the steering group would finalise it, let's do it face to face on Thursday at 6.30

Ste - no, it was never a steering group idea/initiative! This is down to us as players/people to sort!

From the teams Neil listed (not suggested!) it seemed rob wasn't keen on playing with ste and em because he felt that they are similar players. Em, Adam and Ste didn't say anything either way which led to this discussion. I'm glad this happened because it seems Em, Rob, Neil had other preferences. We need to thrash this out on here IMO, then hit the ground running on Thursday.

Again I'm gonna take the bull by the horns and suggest Me, Em and Neil. Thoughts on this from Adam Ste and Rob? Are you 3 happy in a team?

Looking back through the posts it seems You (ste) and rob are flexible and happy to play in any team. Adam wasn't so flexible. But I was. I went out my comfort zone and said i'd be happy to play with adam. But I didn't get any confirmation on this, also it seemed em and rob weren't happy with those teams (that neil didnt suggest) ha!

Be happy when this is sorted!

If it helps il be more vocal, I think I play best with emyr and rob. I also feel its important for a fresh start ie. not ASBO with a new person thats why i didn't choose Adam, We can talk on here more but i think it may be best to do it face to face?

I think you should all have a massive fight, last man standing picks teams.

Why would you not feel its your place? It's gonna be your team after all. As the senior player over em and rob you should have been talking to them about the benefits of playing with you (IMO).

Like I said before, talking on thursday just delays this process. We didn't even need to do this in all honesty could have just sorted teams internally but we decided this was more open. So as it stands a few of you got confused with those 2 teams thinking that was a decision made for you. That would not have been fair, but you'd have been happy to go along with that after claiming that it should be fair!

Bottom line is: Em doesnt want to play in that combo, neither does Rob. You've said you're happy to play with anyone and embrace a new team. Me suggesting Em, Neil and Rob is actually a second compromise for me! Whatever happens they will both be new teams, asbo, netto and erectus are dead so even if you you end up playing with a previous team mate its still a new team.

The choice that Neil then you put was my first choice that's why I was happy with it, I'm not getting into it on here I'd rather talk about it tommorow

That's your choice. As far as im concerned i wanna know before thursday. So if Neil and Em are happy to go ahead then so am I.

I would be happy to play with Adam, and with that in mind I can't see any better combinations that please everyone apart from these:

Me, Neil, Adam

Ste, rob, em

Anyway from my point of view i would ideally like to play with neil, as i think his style of play is potentially complementary to mine, the third i originally chose as Chan as he plays well and is very determined on court, My second choice was Neil and Rob as the third for similar reasons to choosing Chan.

So basically what i am looking for is Me, Neil + 1

Neil may well have a different opinion.

I think trying to come to a consensus by doing it online is going to be difficult, and lobbying with other players privately goes against what we aimed to do openly on the forum, if everyone can meet tonight or early tomorrow, i think we'll get through it easier and with less potential for misunderstanding in person

I really hope one of the emerging teams will be called Polo Sapiens...

Adam, at that stage it was still all up in the air - no one else had suggested anything else. It wasn't a 'turnaround' merely me expanding my choice and letting it be known I'd be happy to play with you. Since that i've not heard anything from you leaving me uncertain. Since then 2 players have come forward on here (not privately) and said they want to play with me so i'm pushing for that now as that was my original choice.

We all agreed in the first instance to try this out online by everyone listing teams, so i'm struggling to understand why everyone is now keen to sit down and talk face to face. We've tried to reach a solution that pleases everyone and it hasn't worked so grab who you want at this stage. Thats my opinion on things, and I don't think its underhand in any way. Everything I've done and said has been on here, not in private.

ok, what i took from Sunday was that we'd start the process on here and then meet up to discuss it, not neccesarily on Thursday, but we would meet as a group and that the online process was merely us getting a start and our preferences out in the open....
