My attitude to resprays is if the frame's worth spending money on a respray, then it's usually a shame to loose what is original, as it forms part of the frames story and you can't get it back. If it's a cheap frame, the money's probably better spent on something else.
I'd add that there are a ton of frames out there, so why take a unique paintjob out of the ether if you're after something plain?
But then maybe I'm too precious.
At the end of the day the most important thing is to enjoy your bike, both building and riding.
