The nicest thing on there is the internal cable routing. I like the way it splits to the brake and the hub at the same point as the frame. Shame they didn't do the same with the front brake cable.

That would assume all users above 100 posts have good taste....

.... when I clearly don't!

"great commuter bike" is not exactly one of the things I look for in the porn thread....
Porn is subjective, but saying it isn't functional was plain wrong.

Saying it's fucken ugly is just right...
functional bikes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
-
• #59859
Hold up, how exactly is that functional anyway?

I see no rack mounts...

Yes Fam!
my favourite Raleigh team colour, nothing beat this 753 Raleigh ridden by the Cranes thought;

Rack or not, what the Cranes did was still pretty impressive.

Shit heavy seat;
love this, without the front radial, it would be gorgrous.

Impractical equipment could cause cysts?
Nothing special yet, put more pics up of it.

92.2g Dura Ace rear mech
-
• #59866
Which is impressive in some ways- but no cable adjuster etc means that it should probably stay in that stand.
I freely admit to being a weenie, but never at the expense of functionality.

that paint must add some weight. Amateurs.
-
• #59868
It'll be anodised though won't it?
-
• #59869
All I can think of is how much that might flex...
-
• #59870
Could be annodized, which is essentially just a dye in the surface/passivation layer?
-
• #59871
It's more than impressive it started off at 180g. The finish is anodised and I don't see the problem with not having an adjuster yo can always run an inline one.
Here's a before and after:
And heres the thread: http://www.forum.light-bikes.de/showthread.php?t=16208

Bet he was gutted that he couldn't shift the last 2.2g that would have seen him hit 50% of the original weight.
Re inline adjuster- yes, I take your point, but that's a bit of a cheat is it not?
Fine, he got the mech down to a very low weight, but it's part of a system- so that is going to include an adjuster somewhere, may as well be on the mech.
What did he do to the 7800 shifters (if he used them), they weight a ton?
-
• #59873
We all run an inline adjuster for the front mech, why not for the rear?
I've slowly worked my way through the thread and it's just evolved to form the 92.2g mech, he didn't set out to hit that weight and has been pleasently suprised how light it's gone. He could probably lose a little bit more by using nylon bolts for the limit screws and tension screw, and maybe get in touch with AFC Bikes and see if they could produce a delrin pivot bolt for Shimano mechs.
