  • didn't know whether to post in "what are you listening to" or here. can anyone recommend good running music for someone who normally listens to music that isn't really condusive to high energy workouts or running? i find it really difficult to find things that fit the bill in my record collection and often listen to comedy, radio 4 documentaries or audio books when running... but sometimes i just think i need some motivational tunes that don't offend my garagey indie rockabilly folky poppy tastes. To give an idea of the extent of the problem: here's the most recently listened to artists on my spotify:

tv on the radio, modest mouse, gillian welch, tom waits, bo diddley, captain beefheart, pj harvey, emmy the great, yo la tengo, richard thompson, beach house, allo darlin', the knife, les savvy fav, hank williams, the byrds, the seeds, king creosote, st vincent, the rollin' stones, televion personalities, nick lowe, wilco, john cale, half man half biscuit, deerhoof, xtc, neil young, dan sartain, merle travis, tune-yards, howlin' wolf, the beasties boys (although this actually works wonders), peaking lights, nirvana, first aid kit and lana del rey....

i realise this is a bit of a daft question but would genuinely appreciate some tips from indie/folk types who also run or go to the gym. the gym's a particular necessity because i have to drown out the five hideous wobbly auto tuned uk dance tracks they play on a f*cking loop in there.

    ta.

I'm thinking some 'Black Eyed Peas' or 'Flo Rider'...
