Recommendations please for a good sports tourer around £2500? Ive watched some clean BMW k1200's (2002 ish, 30-40k miles) on eBay and triumph Sprints, bit old man but I'm more mile muncher than Sunday screamer and my bandit is getting too many quirks to trust abroad. Ta!
I have no idea about the BMWs, except that most people want them to use the cylinder head on Mini engines, which can't say much about the bike.
I had a Triumph Sprint 1050ST as a courtesy bike for a day and I was utterly staggered by the depth and breadth of its capability.
It is as easy as a moped to ride in city traffic, yet it is utterly stable at over 100mph, it's exceptionally comfortable, with no wind buffeting, and it corners, if not like a sports bike, at least far better than something like that has any right to, and the thing is so damn fast. At any speed in any gear, if you twist the throttle enough it will hurl you towards the horizon, such is the solid wall of torque that the triple has.
A bloody amazing bike.
