RE those shifters.
There are a few like that. Are they indexed? If so how many gears? 7 I'd imagine.

My Dad has some like that but less plasticy.

I'd love to know how well they work.

I reckon they're Suntour (accushift):

Been looking into these for my touring build. Less prone to knocks than bar-end shifters and (probably) more reliable than brifters. They do look a bit odd - can anyone compare them to downtube shifters?
