• Sort of a mini project really. Changing the purpose/look of my "best" bike.

    Before:

It's a bit of a mix of SRAM and Shimano and was built with a bit of racing/just having a lovely bike for when the sun shines.

Decided that I want to ride it more this year and want to treat it to a Campag makeover and also a less racy, more "classic" look befitting such a beautiful steel frame.

Going for mainly Campag Chorus 11, but with a silver Athena crankset as it's more in keeping with the look I want (obviously ignore the bar tape):

I've long sold the deeper section Reynolds in the original photo, but not have some shallower ones which I'm going to desticker so they're both like the rear shown below. Also added a black Brooks Swift (as I really like the one I have on my touring bike) and will go with black bar tape:

Now, some advice please. I need some new (narrower) bars and took my preferred LBS have recommended some Bontrager Anatomic bars:

I'm sure they make a lot of sense ergonomically BUT I really like the shape and feel of the bars I already use, also Bontrager bars incidentally, (as shown in the pics) and also I think they're more in keeping with the classic look I want for the bike. I asked them to suggest some bars with a shorter reach as I feel I could do with that using the Campag hoods and that's why they're suggesting the Anatomic ones.

Is it just me or would they spoil the bike? Am I being a dick? Anyone got any suggestions for "classic" shaped bar with short reach and mid to shallow drop? Thanks.
