Road pedals offer marginally more comfort and (maybe) efficiency at the expense of being easy to walk in. So whichever you're happiest with really. It's not a problem walking from cafe counter to table in road shoes, but much more is annoying.
I like look keos on the geared road bike and atacs on the fixed road bike and mtb.
