  • Carryology is one of the most respected sites in the whole bag/carry industry.
It's run by people who are involved in the industry themselves.

Might seem weird to some, but it's no different to fashion/tailoring/footwear sites and blogs.
When you think about how many thousands of companies are out there involved in the whole bag/luggage industry, it seems a lot more normal to have a site which covers and tests all the latest ideas, technology, designs, styles.

A good bag or piece of luggage can make peoples lives a lot more pleasant.

Watch this and tell me you don't see something special in it. :]

Yep, you're quite right, I do.

I spent a few hours wandering though Carryology's site after I posted and it is quite impressive. I did like the Porter Protect Messenger Bag - now that is pricey!

Still considering the Mopha tool roll.

  • New Jersey, arm warmers and cap coming soon....

    http://sport.be.msn.com/lblcyclo/2012/fr/merchandising/

  • Slightly spammy - apologies - but if anyone wants a Mac Cap in small for the £10 I paid at the sample sale (£40 RRP), let me know. New & unworn.

  • anyone have a rapha/paul smith jacket in small or medium they don't want? also looking for matching winter hat.. ta

  • won an auction for some rapha softshell trousers on the bay - for £34.

They came today - been out and about on the bike all morning and can confirm that they are seriously awesome.

They came today - been out and about on the bike all morning and can confirm that they are seriously hot. So much so, I've lost 4 stone.

    Fixed.

  • To be honest- today "hot" was never going to be an issue. I was wearing winter tights underneath and was so comfortable and toasty

  • Schvitzy?

  • nope. Perfect temp for pootling about and running some errands

  • Good luck to you. I'd sweat like a rapist if I wore those for any considerable length of time.

  • Can anyone remember what the Rapha nodder range was/is called?

  • Altura?

  • dhb

Are they the softshells or the city riding trousers? Damn good price either way.

  • dunno - they are the same material as my classic softshell and have taped seams so I'll assume they're the softshells. Pretty awesome really.

  • Can anyone help with the fit of the Cross Jersey (L/S) please?

Just how fitted is 'fitted'? I'm usually a medium and the sizing guide suggests a medium but I don't want it to be too... avant garde.

Will going up a size be too long in the arms and body?

    Thanks!

    Johnny,

I got a large which fits 'true' 38-40 chest. Its a tailored fit for sure, not big at all.

I really don't think a large will be too long for you.

    Cheers!

That makes the decision a little bit easier.

  • Does anyone have experence of the Rapha backpack?

  • I don't. DJ might.

I think Señor Bear has one.

I have to say that The classic softshell isn't very good in temperatures of -26.

  • ^^^use your maggot jacket:)

i'm alright in merino hoodie and baselayer, it's not that cold

  • FWIW I like Rapha... but I usually buy 'cheapo' cycling clothes 'cos I am tight and would rather spend on my bike.)

^ best thing said on this thread. Buy cheaper clothes, get a better bike.

  • Good point.

@Ada: Not a chance of the maggot - it'll get soaked and will smell like a stable 'cos of the feathers!

I have North Face trousers, a Burton snow jacket and countless layers but it's still freezing.

It is good if you are organised and don't have too much to carry. I have one of the older versions (no white stripe in the centre) which has an expandable front section. It is a nicely put together piece of kit, with heaps of pockets to organise your stuff. It isn't a bag to haul about loads of stuff though or to call in to Sainsburys on the way home. I have a MW rambler which I rate very highly indeed, and switch between these two bags depending on what I'm doing and how much stuff I have.

If I could only have one, it would be the Rambler. It is seriously comfy, voluminous when it needs to be, yet when zipped down, not too bulky at all. It is also more weatherproof than the Rapha bag. For commuting, that isn't too much of a concern, you might feel differently though depending on intended usage.

  • cheers Joe.

  • Can the Rapha jeans shrink? I'm not asking if they do under normal washings, but would it be possible to shrink them a bit? They're only 55% cotton but I'm not up on fabric sciences.

I've got a chance to buy a pair at a reasonable price. I went to Condor to check out the fit but it seems they are a touch big for me.
