    Lots is the short answer.
    If you just want to be on the Gas safe you have to find someone who already holds ACS status, get them to sign your work off 6 times, take photos and write knowledgeably about what you did and why. If we use boilers, as an example, you have install 2, service 2 and repair 2. You can then sit the exam/assessment on boilers. If you want to service other appliances, you'll have to take 6 exams/assessments for each appliance you want to service. I can find out the price where I study for this, but it isn't cheap. You also have to retake the exams every 5 years which is about £500.

    The full package, Master Plumber through to Gas Safe registered has cost me (paid in advance) £10,500.
