FWIW I gambled my normal size and they fit perfectly (MTB). I'm not sure if those who advise sizing up are talking about road shoes (which I believe are marginally smaller) or planning on wearing two pairs of socks but in my case it would have been a mistake to do so. Thin socks FTW!
