  • I promise to reply to you all tonight after 9 when I get home. Bit overwhelmed with so many offers of paid work. There are 8 chaps and a lady in my class dotted all over Essex, london and South Westish of Chessington. Might have to enlist some help. Would you all be interested in an area map we can all cover and an email address for each person? We are all in the same boat in terms of part-qualified, bags of personality and drive, but not necessarily in paid experience.
I ask this, as many of the PMs I have received, and again thanks for your confidence, have mentioned being let down or over-charged. I cannot say what they would ask for, but I am sure it will be fair. For myself, I will be fairly cheap and donate 10% after costs back here.
    You guys rock

10% seems overly generous. Don't short change yourself. lfgss needs support but a £10-20 donation will more than likely suffice. Anyone else agree/disagree.

If you enlist other ppl for the work remember that you're taking on the job and paying them a day rate so charge more than you will be paying them (combined, plus your day rate). That way any problems are yours alone (client needs one person to talk to/discuss problems with) and any excess will (should) cover this. Effectively you're project managing (even if only on a fairly small scale).
In my experience building type work always overruns a bit so factor in some margin for this. Inevitably you will lose out on some jobs but thats where you'll learn.

You may be young and inexperienced but don't work for too little (not on paid work anyway).
