I know it's probably very simple but why would my Desire suddenly stop syncing my Gmail? I've exhausted my knowledge of and can't fathom it..
-
• #6778
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
-
• #6779
oh yes sir.

The Transformer Prime is awesome. The gold is so much nicer than the grey. My gold one is also free of defects so far - no light bleed, dead pixels or whatnot. I've upgraded it to ICS, the screen is lovely, getting on fine with the keyboard... I'm loving it.
Currently doing some extensive 'testing' to see if it's a keeper, but I think it might be.

Pics, or it didn't happen. :-D
And in other news: Here are some rumoured phones to take the fight to the Galaxy S III (3).

HTC Edge: 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 8-megapixel camera with 28mm f/2.2 lens, 4.7-inch screen with 720p HD resolution, 32GB built-in memory, 1GB RAM, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
LG X3: Tegra 3 Quad-core CPU, 4.7-inches HD Screen, 8-megapixel camera, 16GB microSD card, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, LTE, 2000mAh battery, NFC
Meizu MX: 1.5GHz Tegra 3 Quad Core, 16GB ROM, 8-megapixel camera, 1600 mAh battery, 4-inch LED backlit display.

This is not really for Android phones per se, but it is useful to very heavy data users, like me. I actually already have this, but T-Mobile are rolling this out under different names and package types. Pricey, as to be expected.
Unlimited calls, texts, and internet: - T-Mobile's The FULL MONTY.
-
• #6783
but you can get an unlimited internet and texts contract for a tenner a month on tmobile or giffgaff if you don't get a free phone with it.

I require the free phone. Sorry.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II now, and by next week, I intend to have the Galaxy Note. That is nearly the perfect phone for me, and I won't have a need to upgrade for quite a while after that. Maybe then I could consider Giff-Gaff.

Do you want photos of anything in particular?
It's shiny, it makes a good fishtank, it's good for planning audax rides...

Smashes piggy bank to bits.

Nice one!

^ buggy as fuck and doesn't close when you exit.
Had to use Watchtower to kill it as it kept my GPS running non-stop.

Only just launched today - worth sending feedback so they can develop it further.

What's the verdict on the Archos 7 G2 ? My gf needs a tablet just to display some promo videos on, don't really fancy dropping 400quid on an ipad 2 given that ipad 3 is due march

My samsung galaxy s2 went fucking nuts last night, kept opening car mode, voice mode, saying it was charging when not plugged in, freezing etc... Anyone else had this problem. Took it to the o2 shop where I got it a month ago, they told me to fuck off basically. Googled it and it seems loads of people have had the same problem and that not using the samsung account fixes it. I have done a factory reset, not signed back into the samsung account and seeing how it goes.
Really temped to root it and use a custom rom or whatever but if it turns out it's not a software problem I have lost the warranty and am more fucked. Nowt but problems this phone has been

there's usually a way to get it looking like it's never been flashed/rooted, just note down exactly which version you're running and get a copy of it before you get flash happy, or I'm sure there are methods of saving your current version, I've just never bothered

Further googling tells me it's a hardware problem and loads of people are having exactly the same issue but there doesn't seem to be a fix. O2 want to send my phone away for 2 weeks to do a factory reset. Literally like 3 days out of the 'bring it back within 28 days and get a new one no questions asked' policy.

Where's my ICS update HTC you baskets?
-
• #6796
If its any help Phil, I rooted & flashed my S2 on the day I got it after the T Mobile jingle wound me up. Doesn't take much for them to wind me up to be fair. I guess they'll be the ones laughing if things go wrong.
ICS ain't all that at the minute on this build but I assume the full release will be bug free. Whenever that happens...

• #6797
Just gonna take it back to the shop on Friday and make a fuss. They must have to sort it out if it's a known problem.
-
• #6798
Take it back on Saturday when the shop is more busy. Evidence of other people having the exact same problem will also help, so print out some internet discussions. Get louder and louder and quote the Sale of Goods Act. If they won't do anything, ask them to confirm this in writing, so that you can then complain to their head office about that store/manager.
I think Dammit(?) used this tactic effectively.

Where's my ICS update HTC you baskets?
Early 2012... Allegedly...

It's still early 2012 and will be for some months.
