I did look at those shoes, and detected a pronounced limp. Not sure why.

Tricker's shoe trees, £40, do it. Made to the same lasts as the shoes.
-
• #1932
ooooooof that is a bit steep though eh?
-
• #1933
How much have you just paid for the shoes?
It's like the people who buy a decent watch and then do their conkers when they find servicing costs are high.

The Evening Standard is keeping my summer shoes in shape during hibernation.
Didn't cost much.

^ They look a bit special for some reason, you'd probably be better off with a £70 pair of John Whites from TK Maxx...
-

Agreed. And with Loakes on sale for less than £90 on Fleet Street, I know which I would get.

....I mean, why spend alll that money on such ugly unpractical footwear.......and the amount of times you will wear em
means 5yrs to wear them in........sigh.... -
• #1946
I think how they look is objective and their a pair of shoes I have wanted for a very long time as I think their beautiful and well made.
I intend to wear them quite regularly and I expect them to last a long time and would rather invest in these than in pairs of guff shoes for the next 5+ years...
I don't think practicality comes into the equation when talking about smart wear...

if they're roomy i'd be tempted to get a size smaller, leather shoes stretch if anything
perhaps you can go to a shop and try a smaller size before sending back?

And only unpractical if you have bricks for feet.
My Cheaney brogues are heavy and hard as nails,
still prolly my most comfy pair of footwear. -
