Tomd, £40 for the saddle, really? Nice enough frame, but so many potential problems, you could be taking on a total shitheap. Much better to get a brand new, warrantyable (except for polo) pompino.
Things like that are all about the risk. 1/3 times you'll get a bargain, 2/3 times there'll be a fatal problem which makes it near-valueless.

Like I said, obviously it's hard to tell the condition from the photo, but assuming it's in reasonable condition, it looks to be a 60's Brooks professional - Look what they go for on ebay. Regarding the frame, Again assuming it's structurally sound - Look at what hilarystone charges for knackered 60's track/path frames. £100 - 150 pounds. The frame looks more dirty (like it's been in a shed for 40 years) Rather than rusty.
