I grew up in oxford, both my mother and brother work there. Massive pellets, all of them. Couldn't get the fuck out of that 'city' fast enough.
To be fair I think the people I know (i.e. work with as none of my friends from home went there) don’t bang on about it and, as others suggest, only mention it if asked directly. That said I was convinced the stereotypes you hear about Oxford students would be true despite knowing differently. My preconceived prejudices were shattered the first time I went there. I’d gone to help with a rough sleeping count and turned up on a wet midweek night at 10ish. The first person I saw after I stepped onto the street was (I presume) a student walking around in top hat and tails.
Top hart and fucking tails. ffs. I’d like to say that he was the exception to the rule except I saw 4 others over the next hour.
