Use Aero's.
This is like the common and extremely annoying 'CD's and DVD's For Sale!' etc

Greengrocers' apostrophe, innit?

I might also bump my current tyres up to 32c marathon pluses and switch to a smaller inner ring, maybe something in the 32t mark
Very very heavy tyres, if you're intending to use it as an everyday bike, I'd suggested a lighter 32c tyres and keep the Marathon Plus till you need it.

I must have got the wrong pens, mine just wiped off. Yes, I cleaned the tubes with meths beforehand. I'll have to check on the brand name, don't have them here right now.
Paint pens are chalk based, so will probably flake off. You maybe want to try a grout pen, that won't be going anywhere..

i have standard marathons atm, not once thought to myself, "gee these tyres feel heavy!" are they that much heavier?

800g, other similar puncture resistance tyres weight around 500g, standard about 260-300g.

In 700 x 32c, marathon is 640g and marathon plus is 800g according to schwalbe (http://www.schwalbe.co.uk/tour/marathon-plus/, http://www.schwalbe.co.uk/tour/marathon/).
So with two, the difference between regular and plus is 320g.
For reference, a Randonneur (also puncture protected) in 32c is 420g (http://www.vittoria.com/en/product/city-trekking/#product-143).
So regular Marathons already weigh a metric fucktonne. -

I've eaten desserts that weigh more than that, there are more important measures of a tyre than weight.

Thank you lemonade for being so sweet.

my other choice will be Panaracer Pasela TGs', they're gums walls two which is a bonus.
i think you can get gator skins in 32's too
-
• #55638
Have them too, felt nice and predictable, not as much grip as I liked thought, (Pasela).
yep, you can get gatorskins in 32c (380g).

Agree that the difference between regular and plus doesn't seem that bad, but a plus weighs twice as much as a Randonneur - the only puncture I've had with randos was one scoble-style as I was fitting them (didnt break a pump or lose my temper or anything though). Although having said that I'm now bound to get millions. But I wouldn't swap for a more expensive tyre that weighs twice as much just to get possibly a bit more protection.

What handle bars are they?!

nice bike, and beautiful cranks aris :)
hey peter, thx :)
frame and build look promising so far, but is there any way to fix the poor chainline?
i was try , but i cant .

To be fair, the Marathon Plus felt pretty stiff and inflexible to ride compared to my other non-puncture resistant tyres, I noticed that difference more than the weight.
-
• #55642
i've had one puncture so far with my normal marathons, a slither of glass got in my side wall. never had a puncture with gators. in my mind the paselas will be thin in the sidewall dept. and slippy. if i was planning on riding into an apocalypse i'd get marathon pluses, they are hard as nails, but you feel it in the ride.

I do have a 32c tyres that's pretty thin with no puncture protection let alone layer at all, but I don't have any puncture even thought I used it a lots in London, the sizes of the tyres make the biggest difference in preventing puncture IMHO.

Thanks, they don't seem to have the colours I'm looking for. I'll keep that in mind for other projects though.

Finito. Bring on Herne Hill
Cannondale Tracks don't usually do much for me but that's a lush build.

I've never eaten a desert that weighs less than that!

Finally finished the training bike and so impressed with how it feels. a mix of 1987 frame and 2011 groupset/components.
will potentially move to chorus/record after the summer.
