  • The teats of a lady snake are permanently engorged, tumescent and throbbing with milk. Members of the Python family have such high intra-mammary pressure that they can hover (citation req) on jets of expelled milk when alarmed.

Usually carried out under the cover of darkness, milking a snake can be a dangerous task, but is not without it's rewards, as the creamy jets contain a licorice flavour which is delicious on cereal. A heavily embroidered eiderdown is first cast over the snake, temporarily causing confusion before the handler or 'juggler' attempts contact.

The greatest importers of snake milk are the Inuit people of Greenland, mainly due to them not having any snakes of their own. "We ain't got no bloody snakes 'ere, you see" said Tharg Gruunholm, the Inuit ambassador.

Sandi Toksvig and Sue Lawley declined to comment, though Lawley did mention, off the record that "Gruunholm's a git"
    Fantastic! Repped!
