^had the same when I turned off greenwich high road into a side street on my way home one evening last winter...
the roads had been clear for ages but I forgot that the side roads stay iced up for a week or so after the main roads.
went from zooming along without a care to being in the middle of a 50yd long sheet of ice covering the entire road. at which point I too basically let fly with the naughty words
luckily I had my studded tyres on the bike but it was the first time I'd tried them out in anger so was still bricking it that I was a goner. was clenching so much it took a minute to wrestle the saddle from between my arse cheeks when I finally got home. but
