Coming down here with your crazy scottish formatting, how very dare you!

  • Would someone be willing to drill a crappy lever (I have) so I can try dual brakes on Thurs?

    Please?

    Pretty please?

with a cherry (or other fruit of your choosing) on top.

  • I realise it's now Monday and I should know better...

    1. Enough players so there's 2 sessions every week, right up to Christmas 2012.
    2. A court for shit weather and a court which is better for watching. Those may be the same place.
    3. A decent online presence which will get used and be useful.
    4. An arrangement whereby we go to nearby polo scenes, e.g. Sheffield and they're willing to come to us. Call it a mini tourney series with non-Londoners if you like, or an excuse for a series of pissups.
  • I've texted graeme, I ain't got scott's number so facebooked him, could everyone whose number I ain't got please pm me it so I can bother you where ever you try to hide

  • I'll have a go if you want, I'm gonna try doing one myself anyway

  • i'm away now till i'm back with is saturday week so polo for me sunday week,

gonna try and polo in NYC on the thu is i can mind,

  • ok ok i'm here, i'm a fool and forgot,

for me i think we need obv more players,
i'm prepared to help where i can to find people and put up posters etc,
witch leeds me onto online presence, if we have that sorted ASAP then we can advertise more around town with somewhere to direct people via shops clubs spoke cards etc.

i think powerhouse is fine, but its def a weeknight place,
we need a weekend chill polo place, maybe witworth style so people don't fell left out, standing for ten mins on your own at PH is awfuly boring and cold
i just like the idea of super serious polo night for the hardcore
nice and chill polo day for the fun

i'd like an indoor place, i think its possible in the long term, others can do it, so can we

agree on trips to and from other places to play,

    thats about it i guess.

  • I agree with this all of what has already been said. Im so sorry I dont have anything further to contribute, I am ashamed. Well done for all the ideas everyone.

  • Rob; when, where, how?

  • bring it to polo and I'll take it home and have a go

  • Hah, Rob. was this "smart" phone...

  • Don't blame the phone, we all know it was you and your Scottish ways.

  • Neil, will you bring a loaner?

  • Can't guarantee it - the Nesbitt bike needs work... I'll see if I get time to rectify its troubles.

  • I'm not totally sure whether i can or not, but my bike can be used as a loaner if i dont make it..... maybe Dave could have it for the night if i'm not about..?

  • Sorry guys, I hadn't presumed my input was sought - er, thanks :)

Likewise, I think you've covered all the bases I would have considered. I agree with the generally agreed order of priorities, too.

I certainly think it is a good idea to have dedicated 'hard corps' evening and/or a 'soft corps' evening session with coaching (ideally 2 or more coaches) - I'm aware that my presence is limiting progression of the already blummin' brilliant poloistas, but obviously it's valuable all-round for the whole spectrum of talent to mix-up regularly too. With the coaching I'd suggest that a sort of informal rota (without obligation) of the more hexperienced players be implemented as you will all be able to develop different aspects of our performance.

I have some limited space in my spare room that can be used for loaner-bikes (once I bump off a granny to buy another twin wall-mount) and goals, etc, as discussed with Neil. As you know I'm not always available to play due to family obligations (if Mrs OD is working late shifts or whatever) but we can make prior arrangements on the rare occasion I wouldn't be in to drop stuff off/have someone collect it.

I reckon to attract a more reliable potential polo-nutter we should be looking at recruiting bike shop staff as easy targets - could even work in our favour for parts :-p

Mrs OD get some seriously cheap printing priviliges at the Uni Print Shop through her student status, we can abuse that until August or so.

  • Rob! In that Gabby Logan thing about the polo I think you are on the opening "Hardcourt Bike Polo" title falling off your bike.

  • What gaby Logan thing? Is it online?
