Campag levers + Shimano dérailleurs seems to be the more popular way around, so there are various tried and tested hacks if you look around. I think Chris Juden will tell you what the problem is, although his table doesn't cover 7s Campag, and neither does the J-Tek shiftmate, so you might have to do your own maths to come up with a combination of cable pull, shifter ratio and sprocket pitch which works.
