I fear I am going to have to go to Condor to try stuff on and work on not drooling all over everything. I don't mind wet, I just mind cold. And I am also anti-faff. But if it'll be the Earth or overshoes then overshoes it will be.

I do wear the standard Sidis (which are narrow), not the mega ones. I'm presuming that the womens are a bit narrower though. So the blue flowery ones sound as though they'd fit. Best to drop into Condor and have a chat with Karl. Try womens-specific and the mens, see how they differ. My feet aren't freakishly wide, just wider than your average lady!

Ah, well mine aren't freakishly narrow, just narrower than average. ; ) Thanks for the suggestion of which person to talk to at Condor. Do you have any idea when he works? Is he on at weekends?

Is Karl the grey haired guy? If so he was really helpful when I bought my first clipless shoes back in the day, even knew exactly what size I was by eye.
-
• #131
Yeah, Karl is the older chap who is usually in the clothing section. Knows his stuff. Think he's there during the week but maybe the odd Saturday too.

There's also the forum's very own Lolo there now, who advised me very well when I dropped in recently.

I was fitted by a grey haired guy, and I'm sure my sidi's are a size too big.
I got pretty much a price match on mine though as I had done a large amount of research and was able to tell them where they were cheaper online. After some some hardballing and me about to leave, he matched the lowest price on line after he went to check.
Might have been because it was Christmas, but it could be worth a go? -

is it just me or does anyone else have the feeling their feet shrink slightly during colder weather? I swear my shoes have been a bit too big the past couple of weeks, and this isn't the first autumn/ winter I've thought this...

And expand when on a long ride in the summer. Yep - you should have a little space on your shoes if you wear them on long rides or all the year round. The hotter your feet get they spread a bit. One of my favourite top tips from a clubmate was to cut my toenails before doing Dunwich Dynamo!

I was advised by Condor to go a bit bigger as feet expand when hot and I'll be riding in Oz, so they're quite roomy at the moment.
Stands to reason they would shrink in the cold... -

If you have bijou tootsies are are looking for some basic commuting shoes I've finally managed to upload a photo on the jumble thread of a pair I have available. Some new overshoes too. PM if you're interested.

I also have a pair of size 6 of these.

Dude, they're mens. Why do you keep buying mens shoes in your ladies size expecting them to fit? o.O

• #141
Right now someone who is size 41 should be buying these:

Dude, why do you keep calling ladies by a word that's reserved for men in this country? ;)
Well, or at least it was when I last checked, but Americanisation moves in mysterious ways ...

Because "dudette" is clunky and I like gender fuckery.

Today's foul wet weather made me go to this thread - thinking about new winter shoes or overshoes. Anyone have any recent recommendations or sales bargains?

I got some Endura ones recently - seem pretty good to me and cheap. Nothing will keep your feet dry in rain like we had today though - just a bit warmer.

Thanks!
Was hoping my SealSkinz socks would help but everything got drenched today.

I've (today) got a pair of Shimano MW81 boots. They arrived at work so I rode home in them. Toasty warm and windproof but I'll have more to say if/when the weather gets colder as that's my main reason for getting them. Warm feet at all times makes me a happy titch. £120 from

I never got on with sealskinz, just ended up with socks full of water.
I still swear by these
2 years in and still going strong, I also stole MOC's hiking gators so I dont get water running down into them. They are the mens ones tho, because of my big plates.
^they are the road version, I have the MTB ones -

I bought a pair of them gator thingys but have yet to use them. I looked at the Northwave boots but Shim fitted my budget.

oh man oh man, I am too out of touch! These are amaze, I am sad to have missed out on them...
Ah, then this won't work for me - I have narrow feet. Pooh.
