  • What's everyone riding at the moment? I just finished putting together a rushed build as the BB on my beater finally gave out after two and a half years of punishment. Pretty much everything on this bike is low-end and cheap as I didn't have a bike to ride at all. Will be upgrading a lot of stuff when I am able to.

    Frame: Leader 727 58cm (Ugly, I know...)
Front wheel: Dodici 36h rim, Gran Compe hub, Bontrager Race Lite tyre
Rear wheel: Velocity Deep V 36h rim, Ambrosia hub, Halo Courier tyre
    Crankset: Stronglight Track 2000 48t
    BB: Stronglight JP 400
    Cog: Unbranded 15t
    Lockring: Shimano
    Chain: Cheap KMC
    Stem: 3TTT 4GX 120mm
    Bars: Old drop bars
    Bartape: Deda
    Headset: Shimano
Seat: Old Condor one found on the beater
    Seatpost: Cheap ETC
    Pedals: Cheap Wellgo
    Straps: Feetbelts
    Brake lever: Tektro RL726
    Brake calliper: Scott Pro

  • Mine's the one on the left. The lovely Pompino is Steve's.

Frame: U.Scanini Columbus track frame. (Unsure on age)
Wheels: Mavic Open pro CD laced to Phil Wood high flange hubs (16t) tyres are continental gator hard shells 23c
Crankset: a cheap Andel classic track set, with 44 sr chainring... Soon to be Campag record pista ;)
BB: Cheap Tange Seiki. Weighs a ton but smooooooth!
    Stem: GB Biba 80mm
Bars: Risers in the picture but running Nitto B125s now
Seatpost/saddle: 80's SR fluted, and the greatest saddle ever made; Concor Supercorsa
Pedals: MKS sylvan track with single straps
Brake lever: who needs brakes ;)

Also got my trusty On One 456.

  • Bad weather, so riding this at the moment.

    Giant Bowery 72
    Sorry about the shit picture.

  • Beater:

Carlton 531 touring frame, mostly budget parts but half-decent wheels at least (handbuilt Deore/MA40). This weekend I'll be fitting Shimano 600 BB, cranks and headset, and a Turbo saddle. Every bike I build is heavier than the previous one...

I've also got a Raleigh Randonneur proper touring bike but it's waiting on a new crankset.

  • On-One Pompino
Hand built Mavic Open Pro's laced to 32h Dia-compe Gran Compe's, conti ultra sport's
Stronglight Track 2000's (looking to replace them with something a little more subtle...)
JOL Straps on old MTB platforms
    Brooks B17 Narrow
    On-One Midge bars
Tektro levers, Avid single digit 5 V's
    Running 49/17 fixed.

Also rocking the Planet-X road bike...

    Planet-X Team Alu Mk II
Planet-X carbon fork (not sure exact model)
Rear hand built Mavic Open pro to 32h 105 5700 (black) / Front Planet-X A57 (to be replaced with matching Open Pro)
    105 5600 Black shifters/compact double chainset/f+r mechs
    Ultegra 6700 BB cups
    Tiagra 11-25 cassette
    Shimano 105 5700 SPD-SL pedals
Charge Spoon Saddle (not the POS on it in the picture!)
Planet-X "tinsel" (seat post, carbon bottle cage, seat clamp etc)
    42cm FSA Omega bars
90mm Deda Zero 6 degree stem.

Not been out on it too much. I need to get things like the cleats and saddle/bar position dialled in...

  • Blake, those philwoods aren't the ones that were laced to those velocity rims?
If so, I'd love to take those rims off your hands like :)

  • A friend of mine wants them but if it falls through I'll let you know.

  • HOw much do you want for them? I could be sneaky and make a better offer ;)

  • Make me an offer I can't refuse!

  • Make me an offer, I can't refuse!

    With a little punctuation, I offer £1! You can't refuse! ;)

  • Refused.

  • £60?

  • Sounds good Barry, you've seen them before right?

  • Baby bluish? A picture could refresh my memory and are they 32 hole?

  • Yeah baby blue-ish, they look lighter in person. And yes they are 32h.

  • Since the photo only real change is the cranks for older Campag pista cranks. Parts are a mostly Record. Seat post is the non aero c-record. NJS bars, stem, pedals, straps etc.. Rims Open 4cd 28h.

  • We have a winner, that frame is the anti clearence!

  • has anyone got wheels i could buy off them ? im currently running a set of really low quality raleigh fixed ones and im not enjoying them !

  • I have a rear wheel as above, Open 4cd with a Campag large flange record hub. 36h.

  • No brake wear blake?

  • Not touched with a brake, looking over them there is a scratch on one of them though.

  • Yeah baby blue-ish, they look lighter in person. And yes they are 32h.

id bloody love these right about now !

  • Coming soon...
