^You can make any job sound soulless. I think the job of a cycling instructor is the best job in the world. Here is a job description:

"Train cyclists to national standard trainee outcomes delivering training with minimum Risk. Keep accurate paperwork records of trainee progress including on and off road risk assessments. Deliver level 1 and level 2 outputs within the requisite time. Candidates will be trained to NSI(P) status, have excellent communication skills be able to motivate young people and have the basic maintenance skills.

Sounds soulless no?

I guess so, at least it doesn't say "Deploying" and "KPI". I'm sure Liz et al will find and appoint a really good Operations Manager, and am sure the wording (and TLA) is such as to scare off folks who really wouldn't like to be stuck doing person management & ticking off KPI's. It's all a bit corporatey hoop jumping though. Be vaguely interested to go back and compare to the ad for the last job I succesfully applied for.

Sessional Cycling Instructors are vital members of the Wheels for Wellbeing team. You are the public face of the organisation, helping disabled children, young people and adults to cycle. You will provide advice and use your experience to guide clients on which cycle is best for their needs and what adjustments are needed to enable them to cycle confidently and safely. Other duties include record keeping and some cash handling.
You should have experience of delivering Bikeability training, preferably to disabled people (although this is not essential and training can be provided) and you should be at least part-qualified in this.
This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills as an Instructor.

Hi MotherGirl - ASAP to be honest. We've just secured additional funding to run some extra sessions over the summer to disabled children. If you're between Bham and Ldn, do you have availability whilst in London? The additional sessions run through to end of October, so it's not the end of the world, but it would help.

Yes, annoyingly my next few weeks are patchy as things are wrapping up with schools and then some voluntary work but I'll send you some deets. After mid-August I'm definitely free whenever.

into the next phase of development with our 3 year Big Lottery Fund grant.

You will develop cycling opportunities for disabled people of all ages and be
responsive to our participants’ needs. Maintaining an overview of both the cycling

Bikeworks is looking for NSIT trained cycling instructors for regular cycle training work in East and West London (specifically Tower Hamlets and Hammersmith and Fulham).

They require cycle instructors to deliver off-road and on-road cycle training to children and adults either in a one-to-one or group format.

It is essential that you are a confident cyclist with an enthusiastic approach to riding who enjoys working with children, young persons and adults. You will need to be flexible and reliable and must demonstrate clear communication skills.

You must be a provisionally or fully accredited NSIT Bikeability Cycling Instructor. A valid CRB and good bicycle maintenance skills would be advantageous.

There's me here too, albeit occasionally, but DIgger's already put me in touch with Jolyon.

Totally wrong time to be looking but if anyone hears of any jobs can you send 'em my way please! I definitely have to move within the next few months. I'm an accredited NSI and BC ride leader with mechanic experience. Also worked on various community cycling projects as well as with LBS's. Thank you.
