I must remeber when ordering shoes online that my feet are stupidly wide and I don't fit most quality leather shoes as standard.
I felt like the wicked stepsisterin Cinderella trying on the ones that turned up today. -

oh no, not at all, mixing greased and textured leathers, much too fussy and attention seeking

A contrasting texture, rather than colour, would have made those boots for me. Not so sure about the trend toward heavily two-tone shoes at Grenson.

Goes nicely with my red codpiece.
Thank you....I'm here all week. :-D

Red Wing Oxford 8103's have landed. The first pair of RW's that aren't cross eyed or a different colour which is a pleasant surprise. They will rule the winter streets and boy oh boy if they don't work well with a pair of shorts. Hither Green Northern Quarter just got some big shoe.

Redwrong is now the choice boot for bells that think they know a bit about Americana
You'd have to be some kind of tit to buy a brand new pair of them nowadays when they were only £120 8/9 years ago

Grenson are shit too
Only in a world where Everton win the Champion's League, or the Premiership, or anything except the Sympathy Cup.

Loake are decent but not great. I've had two pairs and over time I've found that the leather ain't that good. I suppose they're entry-level bench-made shoes. Grenson have been pimped by venture capitalists and as such have been popping up all over the place. Slick operation but some of their designs are ugfuck IMO.

Ok boys lets just clear a few things up. The link with that Euro price was just one of the first picture links Google images threw up, I didn't get them from wherever that is. A rise in price of £80 or so in nearly a decade ain't half as scary as it sounds, you should see what Sainsburys have done to cat food in half that time.
Americana ? Ain't that a song by Holly Johnson ? I quite like him. Couldn't give a hairy hoop for yank culture though, I also wear Kickers but ain't interested in the French neither.
But there are pictures on the internet of little Japanese guys wearing them with short pants and therefore THEY ARE BEYOND CRITICISM. And I am Northern and own a copy of Fac 1 so in law I am able to state that as TRUTH.
And back to the price, well my winter shoes are these and the Grenson Fred boot I bagged. Now that was at the sample sale so I wanders into Grenson the other day and asked them to find any imperfection. But there were nowt, absolutely perfect for £50.
Sometimes things are full price, sometimes things are piss curdlingly cheap.
And best bit is cause they are a bit red and bulbous side on in me coat and hat and bag I look a bit like Paddington Bear. Fuck yeah ! Yeehaw!
I like em'. But then I like melodic high energy house AND Frank Sidebottom.

hairy hoop - if that's not copyrighted, I'm using it.

Take it and let it pollenate all you embrace........
No, they're too posh for that, but they're fine in town, much less dainty feeling than the leather soled ones. If the weather's really foul I put my gore-tex walking boots on.
