  • Mike has let him in and he is curled up on the sofa asleep next to me.
I called the local vet today and they are happy to scan him for free to see if he has a chip - but that will have to wait until next weekend, as they are shut tomorrow.

Went knocking on doors in our surrounding streets, and although one lady said she'd seen him, she didn't know who he belonged to, so I'm going to print some 'Found Cat' posters with a number (but no description to deter chancers) around our local roads and for the moment while he wants to, he can stay with me.
We'll put him out tonight and see if he finds his own way home, if not he always has his little cardboard kennel outside the back door that's sheltered under the awning. If he comes back tomorrow I'll give him a little food. He hasn't been cadging for food so doesn't seem starving.
So I'm just foster mum for the moment, part of me hopes I'll find the owner, part of me hopes I wont..

Even Mike (who's a dog man) has bonded with him.
