So i rescued a young ginger tom from our garage roof today who i found meowing madly when i got home, he dashed in the house when i opened the door, i put him back out again and thought he'd found his way back home, when i heard him meowing at the back door again when Mike got home about 4 hours later. I was a bit worried about him, but he's obviously not stray, he has a collar (no id) and is in good condition. We've put a cardboard box outside the back door with a hot water bottle wrapped in blankets inside and a bowl of water (but no food - I realise if I feed him he will keep coming back)
I think he's a bit lost, if he's still around tomorrow I think I will knock on a few doors on our street to see if they are missing a cat, I don't think he's come far. Of course I would love to keep him - but I can't help thinking there's someone worried about him somewhere.
It doesn't help that he is exceptionally cute and just purrs loudly when i pick him up.

Any advice?
