Last night I watched "The Doris with the Dragon Tattoo". Having never read the books or seen the original Svenska version, I was a total Larssen virgin. I though that James Bond gave a credible performance (particularly after seeing the Broccoli-esque title sequence), but Rooney Mara was the real star.

Overall it was a seriously gripping 158 minutes and there wasn't a single moment where I thought it was dragging on.

Go and see it!

having seen the original trilogy, I'm hesitant about it... but will give it a go, check out the originals yourself
