Changes in mileage and/or intensity, like say, adding a bunch of hills to festive 500 riding will cause problems for most people. My back was sore after the first 200. I've been a bit lax stretching recently too. Plus, that's about double my current normal distance. Again, 10% rule, stretch, rest days are important.
