  • Well actually it's syncing now so it's not an issue, but it required deleting the cloud account from the device.
    iOS was up to date. iTunes was up to date. Copied everything across except music which it would either say 'failed to sync' on, or would just hang at 'waiting to sync' for hours on end. Only tried syncing it to a new laptop on Saturday, worked fine with the same settings on old machine.
    Anyway, issue was fixed by deleting iCloud account and is copying away as we speak - only 4000 songs to go...
