I just realised it's different from the old design, I have this one
the chain is removable on mine but I can't speak for the model on planet x, sorry.

yes it's just a chain, I have one from planet x. Great lockring tool really thick metal.
-
• #36754
nice. the pins attaching the chain to the tool body look really flattened, hence my concern.
guess will be getting this badboy soon -
• #36755
err well tbh I haven't got round to swapping the chain over yet, but I mean, whatever is holding it, it's just a link... if you want I can have a look in the morning..

^
such a good deal. -
• #36758
Yep...painful that it's about 2cm too big for me, otherwise I'd've bought it in an instant.

he has another same size though....

OK... I'm gonna ask a load of annoying questions about that Rossin above, since I am in the market for a road frame. 58cm is close enough to my size, so hopefully someone can answer soon.. why are these so cheap? Is the normal price for these frames so low? Are they real Rossin frames (They look bloody ugly, and cheap paint but the ride ought to be great, right)? I was always under the impression that Rossin bikes went for silly money. The Columbus Altec frame is likely to be a 1 1/8 right? I'm guessing that would be the one to go for over the genius, just for upgrade options...?

also.. if its a 58 why would it say 55x56 on the top tube? (I don't really mind I can go for that PRO FIT)
I apologise for asking all these questions, most probably should go to the seller. I'm leaning towards a reflex purchase though.

Get it. I think it looks good - the welds look pretty nice from a distance.
-
• #36763
seen this listing, I would say the seller measured the seat tube to the clamp point, rather than centre of st-tt intersection.
the 55x56 is clearly sizing, so this is what you take into account while checking this frame size. -

is all I can find of it. I guess I might as well go for it, looks legit. And pretty nice. I don't think anyone would spite me from repainting over that yellow/silver colour scheme sometime in the future..

• #36765
Well, that was quick. I guess if it really doesn't fit at all I can find some forks for it and sell it on for more.
edit: maybe i should have gone for the one in genius..........
-
• #36766
or sell it on for the same bargain you got it for
-
• #36767
IMO, no. 100 is alot of money to me. 200 sounds like, well twice that, if there's a buyer. I'm sure the arguments been had before but it just seems like common sense to me.
Plus, plenty of people sell frames for a profit. One charitable act isn't gonna change the value of things. Anyway, I'm gonna ride it, not sell it.

^ that.
Who would paint the BB threads - I get the shivers when I think of assembling the BB on that frame.
Beautiful though.
can one replace a chain on that? with a 1/8?
