HDD on a 13" macbook pro unibody (mid 2009) is failing.
Takes 10 minutes to boot to OSX. Want to replace it with a solid state drive but can't afford to be without it at the moment so I want to walk into a shop somewhere in central or south west london tomorrow, pick up a drive, then I'll install it myself on Saturday.
Currently the traditional drive I have is 250GB - which I've partioned with bootcamp so I can actually send an email in less than 15 minutes from switching on.
256GB solid state suits me just fine, but to be honest 120GB would be just fine for this.
Brands? Retailers? Costs?
The intel X25-M - 256GB looks lovely but I don't want to spend more than the entire laptop is worth on a drive.
Also, will I need anything specific to fit an SSD drive or do they fit to the same connections as the current one?

It'll be the same SATA connections so you'll only need the tools to open your mac up. I'd have a look on overclockers.co.uk read the reviews and make your choice, also look at the weekly deals. another alternative is to look on by direct from crucial
