Went for the taster with wine pairing menu at Viajante at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green last night. Amazing work. The staff were exceptional and knew all there was to know about the meal.
Included in the price for 6 courses was an additional selection of 4 Amuse Bouche which were just mouth watering. I'm glad we paired up on wine too as I couldn't have picked a bottle that would have complimented each course so well. Particular highlight was the Red Mullet, pickled apricot and citrus granola, paired with a delicious Filipa Paro "Nossa" 2010. Amazing... you just don't want the tastes to end... until the next course arrives of course!
The really great thing about this menu is that they don't tell you what you are having before hand. All they do is check you don't have any particular allergies or requirements, and then they serve each course with an introduction as it arrives at the table. At the end of the meal you can request an email or printed copy of what you have eaten. It really keeps you on the edge of excitement and also gives you something to speak to the staff about each time a course is served.
Highly reccomended for a romantic one with the wife... I wouldn't go with more than one of you though, especially if you are paying! £300.00 inc a cab there and back (5 mins form my house!!!!)
