It's pretty final (unlike Facebook), so I give people a cooling off period because I can't undo it. It deletes the profile and user information, but not your posts. So it also gives you a window of opportunity in which you can still edit any posts that you might want before you lose control of them.
So when I get a request, I just drop it into my Google calendar, and when it rolls around I hit delete. If you're 100% certain and accept points above, I can do it now for you.
