Did a search and not sure if this has been posted elsewhere (sorry if it has) - walked past this ghost bike about a week ago and it's been beautifully decorated with christmassy things.
I guess some of you will already know this but there is also a commemorative plaque now fixed to the bike/ rack with a bit of info on Dan and the sort of person he was - please stop and read it if you go past, it's really touching.
I never knew Dan but he sounds like a great guy, in fact I was surprised how moving it was reading the plaque by the roadside.
As a newcomer to cycling in London I'm really impressed by the cycling community and the fact that ghost bikes are tended to and kept on as iconic memorials, I really hope this bike can be preserved as long as possible.
Please keep an eye out for any jobsworths from the council tinkering with it (I live locally and I certainly will), it's a bit more of a 'proper' memorial now with the plaque so hopefully they'll leave it be.
