Might have the answer. The email from Sunrace didn't help, they just copied and pasted the specs from the website.
But apparently they say to use a Sunrace BBS18 bottom bracket. Which has the following specs:
SunRace BBS18 ROAD BB
Alloy cups and sleeve with square steel axle.
103/113mm for ROAD cranksets
•Square Taper BB (JIS standard)
•Sleeve Material - Alloy
•Cup Material - Alloy
•Sealed Cartridge Bearings
•BB Shell Width: 68mm
•Ave. Weight: 260g (113mm)
So apparently the crankset SHOULD be designed for JIS square taper standard. I guess my Shimano BB might just be a bit long in the spindle. Going to try a 107mm BB and see if I can get the desired chainline.
