think i've fixed it! after scratching my head and 2 cups of tea i had the genius idea of just moving the wheel back in the dropouts and using the cable stop as a guide! doh. nevermind
i'll still need to solder the gear cable to stop it rubbing on the frame but i prefer the clean look anyway - that's my weekend sorted
