I was listening to BBC radio 4's science program 'Material World' earlier. Last week the governments chief scientific adviser was on; he said one of his greatest failing was when didn't manage to stop the government spending money on homeopathy as there is no scientific data to back up that it works.
Someone wrote in to complain saying:
"He (the chief science advisor) of all people should have known better as homeopathy is not based on science but instead its based on evidence"
You could almost hear the sound of the presenters palm cominimg into contact with his face. If you're going to write into a science program at least have an understanding of how science works.
