  • The last time I went to the Royal Inn, it had become ridiculously expensive. I also have to say that I don't like the new extension very much.

  • Hah! The new extension is not for everybody. The statue of Discus in the corner is plain disturbing.
Although (IMHO), its a pub that serves the majority of Victoria Park goers in the summer, and something needed to be done to accomodate that. I think they haven't done too bad a job on that front, still managed to keep the garden spacious, finally repainted the front and still have as many real ales as they used too.

  • I'm sure the Royal Inn has many fine qualities, but a) it's further from my flat, and b) it's always packed on Wednesday nights now. It's not 'our' pub in the way it once was. And c)the drains still smell

  • I can't make this week, but will aim to resume normal service soon.

  • Bumpity Beerity bump!

A reminder that Easts has moved to the Approach for a while

  • Approach with caution, it's dead, after all.

  • will be there tonight between 7 and 8

  • i will pop in l8r.

    (though i prefer the brit).

  • I'll probably be there after 7. need to detour first. but we shall see.

  • On my way as soon as I have picked a nice cigar or two to enjoy.

  • cant make it.

  • There is a beginners polo session tomorrow in London fields, starts at around 10:30am til maybe around 1-2pm.

All you need is a bike with flat bars. There will also be some spare bikes that you can borrow and of course mallets and balls.

  • So is it happening tonight? I'm going to turn up to The Approach about 8.45 with the hopeful face and very little clue about what's going on. If no one's there it just means I've made a rather large detour from my way home.

  • I may make it down to the Approach later. Is someone going to change the title of the thread?

  • Apologies, I again can't make it--LCC in Hackney meeting. It's better to be at the Approach. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to come next Wednesday, either.

It's a job for the Hippy Man. Some food will usually tempt him along:

Uh, then again, maybe not. :)

  • I'm out tonight. Mrs Quinn is not well.

  • I'm sorry I've not made it down in awhile, guys. I did want to say that if any of you easties saw something you liked on my website, you could make me an offer. I've ended up with quite a few prints left over from my stall, and I would love to just let them brighton up someone else's christmas.

    X

    oh yeah, it's at www.nhattattackart.bigcartel.com

For a minute I thought you'd read my post in the Weight Loss thread and were trying to tempt me out with food.

I'm stuck doing chores. Got an 80th birthday to plan!

  • Wonder where you lot had gone, rode the beach cruiser. over

Oh well, still had an intersting ride.

Same, I think I got to the right pub, there didn't seem to be any bikey bikes outside, I went inside and there wasn't a pile of helmets or messenger bags anywhere so I thought I might as well split like a fat man's trousers.
I did have a nice but very cold ride out and back though.

  • hmmmm....

i am afraid that easts seems to be out of favour at the moment.

i admit that i have not been the last couple of weeks but part of that was because the 3 consecutive weeks prior i turned but was on my own.

lets hope easts falls back in fashion.

you never know. stranger things have happened.

  • but also because i have been very busy at work.

  • Bit more, dare I say it, organisation?
    ducks

  • Well, there is the whole pub confusion to contend with. I still don't understand why we moved away from the Royal Inn; those reasons that I have heard have always sounded to me less than compelling. The Britannia, nice pub though it is, just didn't work for Easts, unfortunately. Let's next try out the Jolly Butcher's (as discussed before) when there is parking installed and see how we get on there.
