Sending / Posting / Shipping a bike to/from abroad / overseas by post / courier

I need some advice, I am selling a frame and wish to post to the UK or oversea's. What's the best courier company to use ?

any recommendations ?

I am planning to visit my LBS to get an old box to put it in and then max out on bubble wrap and possibly knock up a wooden frame / splint to protect it.

If you're going to your lbs, get some of the plastic spacers that new frames have between the dropouts / track ends and use them too.

Pipe lagging also helps around the tubes and then fill the rest with bubble wrap.

As for a courier, I've only ever used parcel farce in the uk and UPS from abroad but both have (for bikes) been fine.
