AVB is Portuguese and a very nice chap. Modest and pleasant when I met him eight years ago.
It was Mourinho's first game in England, Oxford United away, preseason friendly. We went for lunch in a nearby hotel before the game and the Chelsea team were also eating there. As they passed us we spoke to a few. AVB came along and I asked him who he was. "Just as member of the backroom staff" he replied modestly.
