Rapha, nice but a bit pricey?

All these people talking about £400 for a softshell being reasonable for technical clothing, wtf? Look at someone like Rab and their softshell jackets are *half *that.

I thought similar earlier, and checked the Arcteryxx site - their softshells are cheaper (though there's no direct comparison to make - only the one with a hood and more pockets is as pricey as the Rapha softshell)

I strongly suspect that the arcteryxx is a better quality garment than the Rapha.

(but as Hugo7 says, you're paying (and you're perfectly aware that you're paying) for something that styles itself as much as a fashion item as a technical garment)
