I've tried disassembly but I couldn't remove the heat sink block without a long pin spanner. The emitter seemed to be done up pretty tight and on reassembly and testing it didn't seem any better.
It worked okay for a few months, with almost daily usage. I guess I shouldn't expect too much more for £35.
