I love that Screamin Jay Hawkins track ...imagine seeing that in 1956!
great stuff , thanks. I always wonder though if we believe that nothing ever happened before Elvis and there was no hellraising to be found. Pre 1950 blues jazz and many other music forms were shooting heroin into their eyeballs and partying all night long. Rock 'n' roll just seems to have given the masses something to do.

Went to see Panda Bear with Sonic Boom last night, awesome, the exact opposite of the gig I saw him do a while back, which was just rambling noise experimentation, this time it was a sequential run-through of the last LP, then a couple from Person Pitch. Loud and hypnotic, just how I like it.

Was the previous gig his set a Primavera in 2010?
I saw that and watched it for about 20 mins before cutting my losses, so disappointed.
He was great on Thursday though. I really like his new stuff, and I thought it was pretty brave of him to play the new album almost in its entirety. I didn't realise how well I knew his new songs until he played them all. I think having Sonic Boom with him helped him focus a bit more on his singing and guitar and probably took a lot of pressure off.
The first few bars of Comfy in Nautica were so powerful as well, it was class.
Support was really good as well, interesting idea just to have a DJ set but I thought she was great.

Been listening to a lot of this fellow of late:
Jacques Dutronc - Idole, Uploaded by DustingShelves - YouTube
The sound quality is pants but there is something about his performance that makes the poor sound bearable.
Because he is a GOD!!!!

Great song off the new Kate Bush album. I didn't realise that was our Reginald at first, I was trying to work out who it was and thought it could even be Scott Walker. Embarrassed.
