there is a new bike brand called Worx bikes who do a fixed/free and sturmey-archer 2speed version of their bikes.
bikes seem a cut above the competition for the money. the full site/webshop isn't up and running yet but you can see the pics of the bikes.
i tried the 2 speed version and was a bit dismissive at first but it works really well and if i you have a lot of hills or headwinds then it would be ideal if you don't fancy going fixed.
