I've completely failed to do any proper riding since Dungeness in October due to illness, commitments, alcohol and so on. So I took a day off today and went for a ride on my fixie skidder. I now feel like a proper cyclist again :)
Slightly odd choice of route was because I wanted to go to Poppy's tea room in Thaxted (best tea room in Essex, 2011/12 - they have the award proudly on display) before it closes in mid-December, and I had a free First Capital Connect ticket.
I don't really recommend the last ten miles of this route, it was boring and there were too many cars, but it meant I could get back to London for free.
