I'm wondering if I should have sheathed the cables for their whole length, to be honest.

The SRM cables run down the front mech cable, so there is a (larger, not iLink) sheath over that to which they are attached (small zip ties), so it's kind of been done already on that side.

I got the iLinks because I liked the thinking behind them, but I think they must have saved some weight as adding the new spider only upped the weight of the bike by 20g, which I found pretty surprising.

My liners run an inche or so into the frame. They do save weight. But like the powercordz inner cables. The weight saving v increased cost, is ridiculous. Still, looks nice, and you're not left with loads of useless lengths after installation. Reckon I've enough links to do another gear or brake set.
