Greetings
Jack here 19, from QLD Australia. I'm moving to Birmingham in February for a shitty "live-in pub job". Just sold most of my bikes to fund this move (CAAD10 and Dodici Special) I still have a wheel set and parts left that I'm going to get posted over to me once in Birmingham. Then I will build up a bike to ride on my off time and hopefully meet some people to ride with.
Just thought I would introduce myself and get acquainted with bike shops, rides, bike related things to do whilst in Birmingham.
Cheers

Theres a lively fixed scene in Birmingham. Our very own mothergirl organises a fair few alleycats and polo events. Take a look in the birmingham sub forum for info.
We seem to ride to and from Birmingham and London a few times a year too.
Welcome!

Ah that's good really good news. I'll check out the sub forum now.

Okay we'll leave it to another day :(
If fielden wants any advice on building a bike there are so many on here that can help!
Surely we can encourage someone to build one for SOOO much cheaper and learn as he/she goes along!I'll say hello again to keep it on topic, a bit confused by JC who thinks I am / need to build a bike / have a Charge??
So you know more about me, I have a customised Pearson fixed which I have done just over 25,000 miles on and have been building / fettling bikes for more years than I care to recall, but thank you for your misguided concern. I obviously don't make myself clear when I post. -

I obviously don't make myself clear when I post.I accidently quoted you instead of the person 1 POST above you, then when i wanted to refer back to the person I had quoted later in the conversation I quickly scrolled up, looked at your name, my name, then continued.
It was a simple mistake, but thank you for your constructive sarcasm (let me reciprocate) and informing me and the rest of the welcome thread how superior you are in all things fettling.

... Austrian is just a different language from German. ;)
Sturm is a kind of not fully fermented wine?
Bradlfettn--pork grease (ugh).
Hmm... one step after the other... 2 months on this forum, and I'm still confused - too much going on here. But whatever. :)
Sturm & Bradlfettn... I'm from there as well... but live in London since quite some time. Since beginning of Oct I'm at the polo beginners in Peckham... building a bike now for that.

Oi oi. Been here a couple of days and already planning next build, a fixie rat bike, if I can find appropriate frame. DAMN YOU GUYS!!!
Lots of beautiful bikes here and a ton load of valuable information. I is based out in the gloomy furthest suburbs of west London, Ashford (the surrey one, not kent. told you it was far). Have just finished latest build (literally yesterday!), a white On One Inbred SS 26" wheeler that some might have seen in current projects thread. Hopefully get a chance to get out and get my arse out to a ride or event (or gasp both!) and meet some peeps soon. -

Hi all, new member here.
Been reading this forum for a while, and seeing all your great fixed wheel bikes has inspired me to build my own.
Unfortunately its a conversion using my 20 year old Raleigh road frame that was stuck in my dads shed.
Will post a picture of it in current projects soon.
I use it mainly for training/fun and have never done a skid on it, lol.
Cheers, go easy on me...

Hi, New today and looking for some advice on a first fixie. I have the chance of buying a Charge plug racer, Fuji Feather, or a Mongoose Maurice, all second hand and at an affordable price.
Just wondering if any of you might be able to assist in making my decision. Thanks. -
• #4646
Plug has better components, Fuji is lighter, Mongoose is shitter.
