Mine also does this and it reappears when it's dry after it seems to have been washed off. I used it regularly for about 3 years without any noticeable side effects.*
I felt much better about it after looking at the state of the inside of my stove top kettle (glacial levels of scale despite using a filter)
*other than my basketball skillz strangely improved...
